Torch Bearer

Much like the bearer of a torch who illuminates the dark and mysterious world, offering a literally enlightened perspective, I am merely utilizing my surrounding resources to bring flame to you. Not only do I need to gather the resources, I must assemble them into something coherent and resourceful. You can choose to employ the flame I am offering or you can reject it, I am only offering you the flame, not shoving it in your face until it burns you.

The primary purpose of this blog is an altruistic-drive to provide essential tools to anyone who reads it. Imagine I am offering you a hammer: you can choose to use it in constructing your structure or you can ignore it and reject my assistance. I like to think, perhaps egotistically, that I am providing a very fundamental service. I am offering the tools that have helped me construct the infrastructure of my character. I believe the quality of our character, although that is subjective in many regards, precedes the employment of that character. Although the central focus of my expositions is on character cultivation, I am not directing your plan-of-execution, I am offering you pieces of the blueprints. How you utilize those blueprints is your decision.

The youth are the future; I refrain from using regurgitated homilies but that is the most fundamental truth of human civilization. The older generation inevitably dies, bequeathing us the responsibility of directing the future and equipping the next young generation with the ability to replace us. We have the choice of wallowing in misery and anger, pointing our fingers in every which direction claiming it's all corrupt and we're devouring the Earth or we can choose to pursue the best in ourselves and inspire others to do the same. This Blog is my form of that. I've always had some capacity to write, so here I am channeling that, although, outside of my writing I am actively exercising my abilities; growing stronger and doing everything in my power to bring positive energy to people.

It's very apparent that a shift in the general-consciousness is manifesting. I'd contend, besides the period of infancy, that our generation can scantly recall a time they didn't have access to a plethora of information. We're constantly connected to the mainframe of human knowledge. This brings with it immense power, no other civilization in human history has actively tried to equip every citizen with unlimited knowledge, history indicates it has been quite the opposite for much of our existence. It's not all roses but we're only in the infancy of this information revolution. It is now up to us how we utilize it.

The youth, from my personal observation, tends to squander their gifts. Not to accuse anybody of anything, I myself have spent a considerable amount of time engaged in time-wasting activities, I still find myself engaged in them but I am trying my best to cease that tendency. Not entirely, though, I fully understand and advocate that humans require a certain amount of relaxation; time to just unwind. Though, I think there's a fundamental connection between the quality of that relaxation period and the quality of our ambitious pursuits. For example, if you're relaxation period involves deleterious engagements, you're impeding your ability to fully express yourself when you need or want to. I have just found that the balance is very imbalanced towards the relaxation and that the relaxation is often deleterious to sum that up. It doesn't have to be this way, there are numerous factors which steer our energy and perception but one of the main ones is a lack of adventure. Before you can ascertain what your intrinsic gifts and abilities are, you have to venture into unknown territory and identify your interests. My previous article about actively seeking experience expands on the same concept. As well, though, I have done my best to try and equip you with dietary guidance so that the machine with which you are venturing into the unknown with has a sufficient amount of energy and enthusiasm to operate adequately.

Our perception is chiefly controlled by our diet; perception is an expansive web with copious influences but at the center of that web lies diet. The cells of your body function and reproduce utilizing the nourishment you provide. You can choose to be a machine constructed from indulgent-food or wholesome-food, either way, your body constructs itself with what it is given.

So to summarize this rather haphazard exposition, I encourage you to earnestly seek the resources required for you to ignite your own torch so that you may illuminate others path. Hopefully the resources that I have provided have at least offered a modicum of assistance. Everybody's torch is an intricate mechanism but nonetheless enlightening.
